Nemesis
There once was a girl
Who looked in from the outside
Watching their lives unfurl
But her heart was open wide
At first a splinter, then a split
A prick turned into a gash
Opening up a widening pit
Love turned to envious ash
His smile was her sun
The rarest of treasures
But the angel-faced demon always won
By the unfairest of measures
Tell her not to ruin the surprise
It's her nemesis' special day
But hers was always in disguise
She doesn't know what to say
You call her your sister now?
Well she'd prefer best friends
That was taken, so she thinks of how
All good things must come to an end
Nobody's safe
Even the bir
Shimmering, tropical, colorful fish,
Gliding through the cold and deep blue oceans,
Open and honest, no secrets to "dish,"
Keeping the peace, they go through the motions.
Side to side, their scaly heads always bob,
Blank, empty stares, keeping hidden their thoughts.
Traveling in schools, like one giant mob,
Sharp, hungry teeth, smaller fishes are sought.
Long, flowing tails swishing back and forth,
Playing hide and seek, blending with the reef,
Angels are priceless, no gauging their worth,
Quick maneuvers make the fishermen seethe.
Never conforming to anyone's mold,
Pure nature like this will never grow old.
